Updating Ruleset via Task Scheduler?

I am a licensed user of TrojanHunter 4.2, and am able to set TH to update the ruleset through the TrojanHunter Guard.  I am also able to "schedule" automated scans to take place by using Windows Task Scheduler.

So my question is.....IF....I decide NOT to load the Guard at startup and run it as a startup program....and instead load it "when necessary" or whenever I want (but not have it as a real-time program loading at startup), can I use the Task Scheduler to "schedule" live updates?  Currently, I have it set through the TH Guard to load automatically everyday at a certain time....but that is with it loading at startup.  Is there a way I can schedule it through Task Scheduler (like the scanner) to run and update at a specified time, without the Guard being enabled?

Yes you can do it via Task Scheduler, in fact I think the Guard uses that same method {only it automatically does it for you}.  I did a Search and found a reply by Siliconman01 which may answer your question:

Are you using V4.2, Build 908 of TH and the new option for liveupdate through the settings of THGuard?

You could default back to the old method of using the Task Scheduler for your liveupdate check.  The arguments are

"C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 4.2\Tools\LiveUpdate\LiveUpdate.exe" /hide /auto

Be sure there is a space before /hide and before /auto

Thank you for finding this for me, Randy.  Grin

I looked through the TH web-site, but couldn't find anything.  If I decide to go this route, this post will indeed serve to be a very nice referrence   Wink
