Do you have "Protect against unauthorized shutdowns" active in THGuard? If so, uncheck this option and see if makes any difference. It is possible that the code injection used by this specific option is causing a conflict in your system. Quote:except that now explorer.exe is now using 99% of my cpu. | Any time you abort Explorer.exe or if it self aborts for any other reason, the system loses the desktop, quicklaunch, etc., from the abort. Does this hang occur on a specific file or folder everytime? Do you have any .rar files on your system?
