I have been running version 4.0 and now need to upgrade to 4.5. Using the uninstall guide under FAQ I cannot find the licence.tlf file although I have a valid 2 year licence not due to expire until 07/2006. Ideas, please! Thanks.

You will not have a License.tlf file in pre-V4.5 version folders. I assume that you are uninstalling all the older versions and are getting ready to install the V4.5. So there is no need to save away any of the old License.dat files.

You should have received a License.tlf file in an email that you received when you purchased the 2 year extension. When you get the older versions of TH uninstalled and the new V4.5 installed, follow the instructions in the email that you received with your License.tlf file to install it in the new V4.5.

The FAQ procedure for the detailed uninstall states:

Save the License.tlf file (This step is not necessary if you are removing TrojanHunter 4.2 in preparation for installing TrojanHunter 4.5. Skip 1. if this is the reason for the TrojanHunter uninstall.)

The FAQ procedure for the simplified uninstall now states:

1. Ensure that a copy of the License.tlf file has been saved to a location other than within the C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 4.x folder. (For Licensed Users Only) If the version being uninstalled is a version prior to Version 4.5, the License.tlf will not be present in the C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 4.x folder. License.tlf is the licensing file that is required for V4.5 and higher.

Thanks for the heads-up on a needed revision in the simplified uninstall FAQ. Cheesy

Thanks, siliconman! I don't usually keep email that far back and at the moment I can't track this one down. I have a printout from Kagi with the transaction ID - is this any use? Or must I call it quits and take out a new subscription?
