When I click on order, I get $49 US to buy 1 licence; does this include the subscription for one year, or just the purchase of the licence, and what is the difference between the two, if any?

Sorry, I read the subscription thread in the FAQ but I may have missed this answer. An annual price $19.95 was mentioned, so please clarify, when does this amount come into the picture?

Yes, it includes 1 year of support, upgrades/updates. License gives you the right to install and use the program. Subscription refers to the updates/upgrades/support. Your subscription would expire 1 year from the date of purchase or 1-May-2007.

If you bought the License for $49 today, then on 1-May-2007, you would need buy a new subscription. Why 1-May-2007 instead of 17-April-2007? Because the subscription requirement is a new requirement and does not go into effect until 1-May-2006.

You can also buy a 1-year subscription (additional) for $12 or 2-year (additional) for $16 even though you are a new customer. Effectively, for $65 you would get a license and subscription that will not expire until 1-May-2009.
