Extra layer of online security

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I spent some time looking around at different threads and I am beginning to like this forum.
 
I am here to learn more about internet security, in addition to asking and answering questions.
 
I've heard so much about the online transaction verification system that helps prevent unauthorized use of consumer's credit card for online purchases by calling your cell phone to verify that you are the real card holder. Do you think this is the ideal solution for additional protection against online fraud??
What do you think about it?

Hi,
I was curious about this system so I accessed the link and read about it. In my opinion it can be useful but you have to make sure they are not giving informations about your online transactions if they are asked for!  
I bought online a software for my computer to encrypt some of my sensitive informations (DriveCrypt) and the companies financial department called me back to confirm them I used of my credit card!
