Is this normal?

A few weeks ago I upgraded to the newest version of ZoneAlarm Pro.  I have noticed that Hewlett-Packard T-TR Status Client has been constantly going out to different websites even though my printer is turned off and not in use.  I removed this program from running at startup but it didn't help.  I did a windows search (with the puppy) for "statusclient.exe" and found 5 items.  There were 3 items that looked odd so I did a Google search and couldn't find anything about them.  The 3 items are:
$_COMPONENTS_ROOT_$/win32/dummy-exes

$_COMPONENTS_ROOT_$/common/statusclient/win32

statusclient.exe-OE925280.pf

Do these 3 items look legitimate?  Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forum pink_roses  Cheesy

StatusClient is part of the HP printer software.  Here is a link that briefly describes it:
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/StatusClient/

Perhaps it has a live update option and it is trying to check for new updates of the software.  Is there a control panel element that allows you to set options for the HP printer?  You might also check your services usings  START-RUN and type in   services.msc

It might be in as service as well.  As to whether you should change its startup status as a service (disable, manual, auto), I cannot say.

I cannot find anything concerning dummy-exes.  Is there a file on your hard drive named dummy-exes?  If so, please attach it to an email and send to    submit<at> misec.net
Magnus will look at it to see if it is malicious.  <at> = @

The folks over at the CastleCops forum (ZoneAlarm section) might be able to assist you as well.
