Every time I log on to the internet, this box pops up?  
 
FIX REGISTRY  
 
I can examine the registry keys associated with running programs and scrips  
I will repair keys if they have been changed and can also disable VBScript and JScript  
DO YOU WANT ME TO DO THAT  
 
 
Please do not ask again......  
 
 
 
 
 
I have never seen this before...should I just press yes,  
 
I haven't acknowledged it at all in case it's something sinister!  
 
Can someone please tell me.

Yeah, it sounds kind of sinister. Get Spybot Search & Destroy and/or Ad-Aware, then scan your computer with these programs. Maybe they detect something nasty.

Thanks for the reply Buddell, but how do I stop it popping up each time I log on...only click the X so far to get rid of it, daren't do anything else! Undecided

Take a look at this link on FIX Registry.exe.  Perhaps you can use Windows Explorer and see if you can find a pgm named fixregistry.exe.  And scan your registry also for it.  Sounds like something has downloaded an executible advertizement or an BHO/spyware on your system.

BTW...say NO...not YES when you get this.  However, it is always possible if this is a malicious item that NO may mean YES too.

Do You have Ad-Aware 6.181 on your system and are the definitions up-to-date as of 01-Feb-04?
 
If you do not have Ad-Aware, as Buddel recommended, go to www.lavasoftusa.com.  Download the free version and follow the installation/setup procedures as outlined in the Lavasoft user forum.  Register on the forum so that you can communicate there if necessary.  I can also help you set up Ad-Aware if need be.

i'm evaluating their trial right now
that pop up and it's timing
plus the fact that it seems unresponsive
is very scarey indeed
maybe the popup is not functioning in the evaluation version
i don't know
this is NOT an ad hehe
just answering because this is one of the few places
that shows up on a search
for the text in that popup window  Grin
