Gosh, I am surprised... Shocked

Having just installed a set of W2k3 servers, (only been switched on for 3 weeks) there seems to be a never-ending stream of fixes for this latest system. After all the rest (win95 and up) I shouldn't expect anything less!!!!!

All this seemed to be covered by the August Cumulative Patch (4.1MB...) for IE.

Still - great heads-up - I hadn't done the IIS server for a week and it's got a stack to wade through right now!

Well at least they no longer wait until forever to do an update, but you might want to consider enabling their auto update but set it for notification only.  I have been thinking about that myself.

It wouldn't work on the school system as every PC has to log into the Leeds city WAN. There's a block on holding the connection open - the longest is 35 mins without manual refreshing of the settings.

However, each time someone logged on to the Internet on the server, it would look and notify. the only thing is, logging on the Internet (as opposed to the WAN) on a server is normally only done to update stuff anyway! I'll see if there's anyway the city can hold a Critical Updates list that we could access without needing to provide username and password (similar to the scripted updates for Sophos).
