What's the best estimate of total Trojans?

I remember when an update included four or five new additions - the last one must be ten times that... It made me wonder how many Trojans are estimated to 'out there' (not necessarily 'in the wild'). I realise there's a difference in the way the different AT 'houses' do their counting - some include every variant and jack the figures up to the high teens of thousands, others just count one for a Trojan and its variants (just like AV software really - it's the old 'ours stops more than theirs' attitude). However, maybe there's some sort of consensus on what is lurking? Maybe not - I don't know! This might help answer that other thread regarding the update file size - there might be a projected maximum size (say, within the next 12 months we expect it to remain less than 750KB, or something). C'mon - I know it's a 'crystal ball' exercise, but have a go!
