Internet security issue (Help)

Ok here is the issue. We are  using windows NT with sp6. We have  wireless internet connectivity and 3com internet server is directly connected to ISP with no firewall. Also we have exchange 5.5 email server with windows 2000 OS. One of my Boss's friend is saying that he is going to hack all emails outside from our company. Could anyone help me how to prevent him from doing so.I will greatly appreciate help
