Mozar,

How difficult is this to user and or configure? I'm interested in using this on one of myhome computers in place of the XP Firewall. I've read the manual briefly, but wondered what your experience tells you.

 Hello  and  welcome ,  optikl

It  is  the only  software  FW  I  never  have  the  time  to  test  - I've  downloaded  it  in  the  past  but  ,  for  some  motive , have  to  uninstall  it  before  seriously  testing  it .

At  WILDER's Forum  ( " Other Firewalls "  Section ) there  are  some  threads  about  CHX  :

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

The  last thread  one , with  the  participation of  the CHX developers ,  is   :

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=72595

There  is  also  this  URL   to help  :

http://members.shaw.ca/BIND-PE_and_ICS/chxi.htm

If  you  accept  the  CHX  design  , with  no  application filtering  like  8Signs  or  XP  FWs  ,  CHX  is  a  great  FW  .
But  it  does  have  a  harder  learning  curve  than  8Signs  has -  XP FW  has  no  learning curve  Smiley .

And  ,  concerning  CHX  excellence  , it's  enough  to  say  that it  is  the  FW  that  Phant0m  is  using  .

Sorry  if  I  couldn't  help  you  on  that  .

    Regards  ,

       mozar

P.S. :  Don't  forget  to  read  * all *  the developer's  documentation  at  CHX  page  before  installing  it .
