that was remiss of me. I have been using 5.5 for nearly a week now, but didn't bother posting it here, because almost nobody here uses Sygate.  Embarassed
 
I have found 5.5 to be a significant improvement on 5.1.

Pourquoi? If you don't use a particular piece of software, of what significance is a post announcing an update to it? I ask because I've just realised that I could be ahead of Ian in posts if I responded to all the update notices for NOD, spywareblaster, spybot and all the other app.s that I don't use. It would seem that I've missed a golden opportunity here.

The fact that Acheton is talking about this software is enough for me to give it  a whirl.Like when Mozar talks about 8sign FW I feel like trialing this software even if later I come back to the one I currently use.

No, no, I was not being mean. I was being serious. A firewall is a major piece of software, and few of them work well with others, so if one is already using a firewall, then trialling another will normally mean uninstalling the one you already have. So, my question was legitimate, not meant to be cruel. I could have posted notice of Sygate's update, as I could have for Sentinel, another security app. I use in tandem with TH, or as I could have for EZ AV, the antivirus program I use (and which often posts updates several times a day). However, since nobody else that I know of uses these app.s here, I don't see the point. That's all.

I only tend to post alerts to pieces of software I actively use or have an interest in, such as Sygate, K9 and SS&D.

Actually, I want to point out also that Claire was original the updates host(ess) at Computercops.biz, she did such a wonderful job she was promoted to a moderator there. I believe she posts here to help people keep up to date and is doing a wonderful job.  
 
If you feel the need to update about a product that you may be using, feel free to. I would if I thought it would significantly help others in the forum here as Claire has helped me. Particularly I am always forgetting about IE-SPYAD which is very useful and better to use instead of a hosts file as it is registry based.
 
As to that other guy who's name escapes me for at least five more posts, he hasn't overly used this. So if you were kidding about this I apologize, if you were serious take it a little easy on those of us that are not as capable at talking a lot about nothing like you and Ian. Wink
