JavaRa - Update and CleanUp for your Java Control
« on: Jul 20th, 2008, 3:37am »

JavaRa is a free utility program that permits you to easily update Sun's Java control. It also removes old versions of Java and cleans up the system registry of obsolete Java registry entries/keys.  This is for Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

JavaRa Description

http://raproducts.org/javara.html

To Install and Use JavaRa

1.  Using Windows Explorer, create a new folder named JavaRa under C:\Program Files.  (C:\Program Files\JavaRa)

2.  Go to the link below and download JavaRa 1.10 (or later)

http://raproducts.org/

3.  Unzip the downloaded file directly into the new JavaRa folder at C:\Program Files\JavaRa

4.  Open folder JavaRa.

5.  Right click on JavaRa.exe and select "Send to > Desktop(create shortcut)".  This will place a JavaRa shortcut on your desktop.

6.  Click on the JavaRa desktop icon to start JavaRa.

7.  Click on hot button "Search for Updates".

8.  Bullet "Update Using jucheck.exe" and click on Search.

9.  Follow the wizards to install the latest Java update 7 (or later).

10.  Once the latest Java Update is installed, go back to the main window of JavaRa and click on "Remove Older Versions".

11.  Respond with "Yes" to let it clean out all remnants of previous versions of Java.

Notes:

1.  In the future, run JavaRa every 3-4 weeks to see if a new release/update of Java has been issued.

2.  A new version of JavaRa may be released following the release of a new Java Update.
This is necessary to incorporate and registry items for the latest Java Update.  Therefore, you should maintain JavaRa to the latest version release.
