What is causing a "Stream Read Error" ?

When opening TrojanHunter Scanner, a STREAM READ ERROR" will occur if file TreeState.dat has become corrupted. To resolve this error: - Be sure to be signed on with an Administrator account. Windows XP 1. Close TrojanHunter Scanner 2. Unload/stop THGuard.exe 3. SEARCH for file TreeState.dat. (This file should be found in a folder at C:\Documents and Settings\"User Name"\Application Data\TrojanHunter.) 4. Delete the file TreeState.dat. 5. Open TrojanHunter Scanner. TreeState.dat will be automatically regenerated. 6. Restart THGuard.exe Windows Vista 1. Close TrojanHunter Scanner 2. Unload/stop THGuard.exe 3. SEARCH for file TreeState.dat. (This file should be found in a folder at C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Roaming\TrojanHunter.) 4. Delete the file TreeState.dat. 5. Open TrojanHunter Scanner. TreeState.dat will be automatically regenerated. 6. Restart THGuard.exe If this does not resolve the "stream read error" problem, please open a new post in the user forum for further assistance. Applies to TrojanHunter V4 and V5 (09-Sept-2007).
