The Right-Click Scanning feature provided in TrojanHunter allows a user to quickly scan a single file or folder. TrojanHunter will scan the selected file or folder using all its rulesets for detecting/identifying malicious content in the file or folder. This feature is particularly useful for performing a scan on a downloaded file to ensure that the downloaded file is not malicous. An anti-virus right-click scan should also be executed on the downloaded file. Right-click scanning can be initiated either through Windows Explorer or the START-SEARCH utility. The procedure below describes the START-SEARCH method. How to Initiate a Right-Click Scan 1. Go to START-SEARCH-FOR Files or Folders 2. When the SEARCH window opens, type in the name of the file or folder to be scanned. 3. From the search results, visually locate the file or folder to be scanned. 4. Using the mouse, right click on the name of the file or folder. 5. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Scan with TrojanHunter TrojanHunter scanner will then load, scan the file or folder, and report its results in the scan results section of the TrojanHunter window. NOTE: The Right-Click scanning feature is enabled or disabled through the OPTIONS settings within TrojanHunter Scanner. The enable/disable button is located at the bottom of the OPTIONS screen. The DEFAULT setting is Enabled. Applies to all versions of TrojanHunter.
