This describes how to set up LiveUpdate to run automatically at a specific time of day. LiveUpdate downloads and installs all RuleSets and Program updates for TrojanHunter, inclusive of TrojanHunter Guard and the scheduled scanner module THCL.exe To Set Up LiveUpdate to run automatically- 1. Open TrojanHunter Scanner. 2. Click on the Schedule icon (the clock icon) in the left icon bar. 3. Under "Automatic LiveUpdate" - Select the Start time 4. Click on the box next to "Enable daily automatic LiveUpdate". A check mark should appear in the box. Automatic LiveUpdate is now implemented. It will run silently at the scheduled time. It will download and install all updates silently. Starting with TrojanHunter V5.0, LiveUpdate will download and install program updates and upgrades as well has Rulesets for infection detection. To Turn OFF automatic LiveUpdate- 1. Open TrojanHunter Scanner. 2. Click on the Schedule icon (the clock icon) in the left icon bar. 3. Click on the box next to "Enable daily automatic LiveUpdate". The check mark should disappear. NOTES: 1. LiveUpdate will only run successfully if your system is connected to the Internet at the time Task Scheduler starts the LiveUpdate. Dial-up modem users should not use this technique to run LiveUpdate because it can not be configured to disconnect the modem from the Internet after completing the check/download/install. 2. You can examine the execution of LiveUpdate by opening the system's Task Scheduler. A successful execution displays a "Last Run" result of: 0x2 = LiveUpdate ran successfully- No new update found on this last run. 0x3 = LiveUpdate ran successfully- Downloaded and installed new Update on this last run. Applies to TrojanHunter V5.0 or later.
