I have a file which can have a one letter name, several letters with or without odd accent marks, and even a fraction in the name believe it or not.

If one flips through categories in AutoStart, and goes back to Native Apps, the file already has a new name.  Ah, this is either a super cloaked security app, or Big Trouble.

I run 9 billion security apps while on the net, and none of the scanners report anything amiss; we practice safe surfing, etc.

Any ideas what in the world this "x-file" could be?  Thanks for help/ideas; I hate anything "unknown" running!

I don't think it is anything other than a display anomoly...formatting.  I get a ">" and then a "&" that displays on the first line and then the key value for registy variable "BootExecute" on the second line (PDBoot.exe, autocheck, autochk) when I jump around and go back to Native Applications.
