I just tried the latest version and consistently get a BSOD on a WinME system. The program window appears briefly then crashes. After hitting continue in the BSOD window the system returns to normal.

Works fine on my WinME system Ed.  No BSOD at all for me, are you starting it through the program or directly that may make a difference.  I replaced my autoexplorer in the normal release with the 2.1 release so it starts up from the TH user interface.

Win98SE - fine.

Winstart.bat description - "probably added during this sessions" - should be singular "session" Grin

Something else-

Under "Standard Excutables", I get a single blank folder in both explorer.exe and userinit.exe fields. The folders are selectable and have what looks like 10-15 blank spaces following the icon. Is this what everyone else sees? My system is standard (with no alternative shells, for example), so shouldn't these two fields be greyed out and empty?

I ran it on a Win ME machine and had no BSOD problem....
However, under Bat Files >
autoexec.bat there were no listings in 2.1, there was in 2.0
nothing in config.sys, N\A in 2.0
or in dosstart.bat, there was in 2.0

Ian, mine shows a grey computer icon in both.

Have fun....... Grin

I've started it both from a double click of the EXE file in Windows Explorer and a shortcut to that same file from the desktop and quick launch bar. In all cases I get the BSOD. The program starts as I see the window for about one second then it crashes. It's too bad as the program can be very useful. I'll continue to try each release and report the results.

Hi Magnus,

Do you plan on incorporating this program into the next release of TH to replace the one that's there now or are you just thinking of this as a standalone program to be used outside of TH (or both  Smiley)?

The BSOD crash gives the following data:
VWIN32(05) + 000012D0 Error : 0E : 0028 : C02A44A8

The AutoStart program in TH works fine.

Question: did u run both the TH and the AutostartExplorer? I've already make a note about if both of the explorers are active, than there'll be problems. Please, try to run them as separate process (or not in the same time: still the same BSOD?).

I've tried running it in all possible combinations with something else and alone. In all cases it crashes with the same BSOD message. I tried it on my other W98 desktop and W98se laptop. It runs fine on those machines. The original program called from the TH menu bar works fine.
