If you are running NIS 2007 with the Add-On pack, you should check to see if you are running the latest version of the Add-On pack which is V1.0.2.3. If you are running an older version, you should update to this latest version to avoid problems that may surface caused by the older version. On my system, this revealed itself as Norton program CCApp randomly aborting 6-8 couple of hours starting 04-Jan-07. To Check the Version Number: 1. Open NIS 2007 2. Click on the "Norton Internet Security Add-on" tab to bring it forward. 3. Click on "Open" on the Support section. 4. Click on "About Norton Internet Security Add-on Pack". This will open a new window which is an info window on the statistics for this add-on pack. 5. Click on the "Norton Internet Security Add-on Pack" tab. To Download the Latest Add-on Pack: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/custserv.nsf/docid/2006092616462646 To Install the New Add-on Pack: 1. Using Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, remove "Norton Internet Security Add-on Pack (Symantec Corporation)". DO NOT remove NIS 2007. 2. Reboot your computer when instructed. 3. Close down various programs in your Systray. Do not close down NIS 2007 or de-activate it. 4. Install the new NIS 2007 Add-on Pack 5. Reboot your computer when instructed. 6. Run NIS 2007 LiveUpdate 7. Set up your desired settings in new Add-On pack. The previous settings are not carried over. Many thanks to AmySheehan on the DSLReports forum. She uncovered the cause and defined the resolution to this problem for my system.
